The Spanish Banking Association has reaffirmed its commitment to financial education for the fifth consecutive year with the launch of the new edition of its annual programme ‘Your finances, your future’, an initiative that was born in 2015 with a vocation of permanence and continuity over time.<\/p>\n

The involvement and commitment of more than 2,600 volunteers from our partner banks are the key to the success of this initiative. These bank workers dedicate their time and effort to bringing financial education to 35,700 students from a hundred schools throughout Spain. In the classes they seek to instil knowledge in students between the ages of 13 and 15 so that they can learn how to manage their money and develop healthy financial habits.<\/p>\n

Students receive financial education on basic concepts of personal finance: how to prepare a personal budget, what to consider when making a purchase decision, what is responsible consumption, how technologies influence our lives, what is digital banking, what is cybersecurity, or what are the different types of digital scams and how to prevent them.<\/p>\n

At the end of the programme, students have the opportunity to participate in the national final of the financial literacy competition through the online platform ‘Kahoot!’ that the Spanish Banking Association organizes together with the other European banking associations that are members of the European Banking Federation. The Spanish final of this competition will be held on April 9th<\/sup>, and the winners of this competition will represent Spain in the European final that will take place on the 6th<\/sup> and 7th<\/sup> of May with students from 30 other European countries.<\/p>\n

“The volunteers of our partner banks are the backbone of the financial education programme ‘Your finance, your future’. They use their free time to go to schools. If we are already in the fifth year, it is thanks to them,” said the Chairman and CEO of the Spanish Banking Association, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Rold\u00e1n, at the launch of the programme developed by the Association together with Junior Achievement\u00b4s Foundation.<\/p>\n

The vocation of this initiative is to consolidate itself as a reference in financial education projects. It also shows the financial sector\u00b4s effort to transmit the importance of developing healthy financial habits to young people in order to take financial decisions wisely and adjusted to their needs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
